Lane realities most buyers do not see
A 48-hour CONUS delivery becomes a 7- to 21-day OCONUS delivery once customs, in-country freight, and base receiving are factored in. Lanes into mature theaters (Germany, Korea, Japan, Bahrain) move faster than lanes into newer or contested theaters. We tell the buyer the real floor before the PO, not after.
What the documentation has to include
Commercial invoice with HTS codes where applicable, packing list with weights and dimensions per parcel, country of origin, end-use statement, and any required export-control determination. For DoD destinations, mark-for codes and TAC where applicable.
- Commercial invoice with HTS codes.
- Detailed packing list per parcel.
- Country of origin for each line item.
- End-use and end-user statement when required.
- Mark-for and TAC for DoD destinations.
Where in-country partners earn their fee
The last mile inside a country we do not operate in is the riskiest mile. We work with vetted, contract-experienced in-country partners for customs clearance and on-base delivery, and we hold the prime obligation so the agency has one accountable counterparty.
Common questions
Can you quote DDP to an OCONUS base?
+
Yes, on most lanes. Some restricted lanes require a different Incoterm; we will tell you which at quote.
How do you handle ITAR or EAR-controlled items?
+
We only handle controlled items where the export determination is clear and the license, if required, is in hand. We do not move controlled items on assumption.
What is your typical lane floor?
+
Mature U.S.-base lanes typically run 7–14 days door to door for in-stock items. Newer or restricted lanes can run three weeks or more.
